Some of the teachers I'm not sure if it is a specific degree, but the teachers have their way of teaching and do not adapt to the students. I found it hard at times to keep up with the teacher's style of teaching, and her methods just didn't help me understand the material. But other than that, it is a lot of great people on campus, and because it is small, I feel that I can get to know a lot of people. There are also a lot of things to do on campus a lot of different activities to do and a lot of clubs to get involved with. Even though I am not a party person, I did find myself at times wanting to hang out and go out with the people that I met and had become friends with. The campus has given me a different outlook on-campus living. I did transfer from a JUCO college where there was no on-campus living, and I thought that was the way to go, Lewis has definitely changed my perspective.... The clubs and sports teams at C.O.D are quite small; I considered joining the tennis team but didn't after learning there were only three girls on the team. Hopefully, this has changed since I attended in 2021! I also had some concerns with safety in one of my classes, but C.O.D. handled it with great care and made sure my classmates and I were comfortable after the issue was resolved. My favorite part of attending College of DuPage was attending one of their study abroad programs. They have multiple programs and I believe they all come with scholarship opportunities, making them accessible to even more students.... Before Prairie State I hadn't attended a credited college before. My parents couldn't afford to pay for college, so I had to work straight out of high school. As I progressed to the next school year determined to get my first degree. I was struggling financially and finally landed a full-time job. From this point on until my final semester this year, I've been taking online classes. That was all I could handle for the next two years. 2-3 online classes a semester.
